Planting Trees, Protecting Nature
Alcoa Fastening Systems in Kelkheim, Germany invested a US$25,000 Alcoa Foundation grant in the Hessian Society for Ornithology and Protection of Nature (HGON) for a nature path in a city park. To mark the occasion, AFS employees planted a crab apple tree in the park, Sindlinger Wiesen, at a ceremony attended by the mayor, city officials, environmentalists and community members.
