With the arrival of Alcoa, which discovered bauxite for mining there, Juriti, a poor municipality in the State of ParĂ¡, saw itself faced with a challenge. After some initial set-tos with the company together they decided to create a Sustainable Council, formed by representatives from three companies, public authorities and civil society. Over the last six months the Council has held 30 meetings and it asked Ibope to carry out a survey that shows that 89% of the population view the setting up of the project in the region in a positive way.
